Understanding the Proper Process for Home Improvements
The Proper Process for Home Improvements when you purchase a new home, it’s natural to be excited about personalizing the space and making it reflect your unique style and preferences. However, it’s essential to follow the correct process to ensure that any changes or improvements you make are compliant with local regulations and community guidelines. Failing to take the necessary steps to get approval beforehand can result in unwanted consequences, such as hearings, fines, and even the potential removal of unapproved modifications. By understanding and adhering to the proper approval process, you can avoid these issues and enjoy your home improvements without any setbacks. Do I need to submit an Architectural Approval Application? If the violation requires in-kind repair / replacement, an Architectural Approval Application is NOT required to be submitted. However, if the violation is for a new improvement or change to an existing feature of the property (including landscaping), an Architectural Approval Application MUST be submitted with a plot plan and Neighbor Advisement Form. Please refer to the Documents section of your Resident Portal to view the Architectural Guidelines, Procedures, and Forms.Thank you for taking the time to review the documents associated with your community that you may have not had an opportunity to review when you purchased your home.If you need assistance, please feel free to contact us at https://actionlife.com/contact. |
Pets in the Community
With all of the demands on your time, it is sometimes hard to focus on courtesies regarding pet ownership. Unfortunately, it also creates more stress for your neighbors when they have to deal with nuisances such as barking dogs, loose dogs and cats and feces being left on their property or in the common area. These are clearly the responsibility of the pet owner and abiding by the pet rules in the community will not only promote a better relationship amongst neighbors, but will protect the health and safety of the animals as well. Remember to always have your pet on a leash and pick up any waste left behind. Also, please do not allow your dogs to travel onto an owners lot to defecate or urinate on plants. Pet waste damages plants and discolors the mulch. Plant replacements can be costly to the Association and costly to the homeowner.
Please be a good neighbor – You can make a difference!
Trash Cans Stored in View of Common Areas
Hello Tournament Hills Owners!
This is a courtesy reminder that trash cans must be stored out of view of the common areas. It has been noticed that many owners are storing their cans on the side of their homes, often times on landscape. Unfortunately, you will be subject to receiving non-compliance letters and can be called to a hearing with the board should the violation continue.
The Rules & Regulations for your community stipulate the following with regard to trash disposal:
Trash, garbage or other waste must be kept only in approved sanitary, properly closed containers. No trash or debris is to be left in any area that is visible to others, such as walkways, Association Property or Association Maintenance Areas, except when trash cans are set out in the street for trash collection. The Owners shall comply with the City’s waste and recycling program for the Community. No Owner shall permit or cause any trash or refuse to be kept on any portion of the Community other than in the receptacles customarily used for it, which shall be stored out of public view, within garages or behind a fence or wall in a side yard, except on the scheduled day for trash pickup. Containers shall be placed in designated areas no earlier than the evening before the scheduled pick-up time. Containers must be returned to garages/placed out of sight by 9:00p.m. on the day trash pickup is scheduled. Owners shall be subject to fines imposed by the Association for failing to comply with guidelines regulating the times during which containers may be placed in designated areas.
We appreciate your prompt cooperation regarding this matter, thank you!
